The Kenya NFT + AI Summit

The Kenya NFT + AI Summit in collaboration with Mbogi Ya NFT had invited HUG to curate African artwork for their event at the Alliance Francaise in Nairobi, Kenya. This event highlighted the latest advances in technology while hosting a panel of speakers from the United Nations, Alliance Francaise, HUG, and more to share their perspectives on the future impact of emerging technologies in East Africa.

Among the 18 artworks centering around the The Future of Africa by artists of African descent, one that stood out was “Tribal Transitions”. This piece was selected for display at this event, which was a significant achievement and recognition of its artistic merit.

The goal of this exhibit was to share the power and potential of art and technology as a creative medium and tool for Africans. The inclusion of “Tribal Transitions” in this exhibit served as a testament to the success of this goal.

My African heritage deeply influences my art. Being a black Brazilian, I’ve experienced firsthand how society’s perceptions can shape our behaviors and interactions. This awareness has not only shaped my worldview but also profoundly impacted my artistic expression. I strive to highlight the beauty of black culture in my work, consciously incorporating elements that reflect our experiences and challenges. My art is a celebration of our resilience, a tribute to our rich heritage, and a platform to bring more black voices into the spotlight.
