The male gaze – Not a toy Project
The project main goal is to build a stereotyped male gaze image of the objectification of the woman’s body. According to The Objectification Theory published by Barbara L. Fredrickson and Tomi-Ann Roberts in Psychology of Women Quarterly back in 1997, sexual objectification occurs when a woman’s body, body parts, or sexual functions are isolated from her whole and complex being and treated as objects simply to be looked at, coveted, or touched.
The male gaze is the act of depicting women and the world, in the visual arts and in literature, from a masculine, heterosexual perspective that presents and represents women as sexual objects for the pleasure of the male viewer
Nowadays, Matel works hard to show the doll Barbie like a symbol of diversity and inspiration. Furthermore, the doll for a long time was an icon of futility and a controversial female model.
To find the ideal model I ask for the help of NUMA Models Network that sends me the beautiful Sydney Dowling.
